COPA Signs Agreement for Solar Power Plant (SPP) Projects
COPA, one of the leading companies in the HVAC sector with
its environmentally friendly, innovative, and superior energy-saving product
range, continues to focus on sustainable resource utilization in its production
processes.
On September 5th, COPA signed an agreement with the firm
Boyut Renewable Energy for the realization of Solar Power Plant (SPP) projects.
The signing ceremony, held at the factory located in Bursa Minareliçavuş OSB,
was attended by COPA Chairman of the Board Mehmet Besler, COPA General Manager
Oktay Erdinç, and Boyut Renewable Energy Electricity Construction Chairman of
the Board Bilal Selman Özünel. With this agreement, COPA will establish Solar
Power Plants (SPP) in Adana and Çorum with a capacity of 6 MW and an annual
output of 9,600,000 kWh. The COPA SPP projects, which have commenced
installation on 4.09 hectares of land in the Ayvalı and Kutluca villages of
central Çorum, are planned to be completed in 3 months.
Focusing on sustainable resource utilization in its
production processes, COPA had begun saving 3 months' worth of energy per year
by increasing its SPP capacity by 100 percent in 2023 through the Solar Energy
System commissioned at its production facility in Bursa in 2022. With this
agreement made in September, COPA aims to reduce its carbon emissions by 60
percent by the end of 2024, thanks to the Solar Power Plants to be commissioned
by the end of the year.
