The Heart of HVAC Technology Now Beats in Bursa
COPA Heating Systems, one of Turkey's largest-capacity steel
panel radiator manufacturers, has added a new milestone to its 100%
Turkish-capitalized investments. COPA, a leading exporter in the HVAC sector
for 20 years, has established a heat pump facility with an investment of €3.5
million. The facility, located in Bursa, will produce 100,000 heat pumps
annually.
COPA aims to export its heat pump products worldwide,
primarily to European countries such as the UK, Germany, and Poland.
Environmentally friendly through the use of eco-friendly gases, COPA heat pumps
feature 7-stage silent technology and remote access capabilities. The facility
was inaugurated with a ceremony attended by COPA Heating Systems Chairman of
the Board Mehmet Besler, Vice Chairwoman Ayça Besler, Board Member Oktay
Şentürk, General Manager Oktay Erdinç, and the employees.
Oktay Erdinç, General Manager of COPA Heating Systems,
stated: “We have commenced production at our heat pump facility, established
with a €3.5 million investment at our Bursa factory. As a member of EHPA
(European Heat Pump Association) and the first company manufacturing in Turkey,
we take pride in owning one of the nearest heat pump production facilities to
Europe. Standing out among renewable energy-powered HVAC products with their
technology and eco-friendly features, heat pumps utilize energy found in
nature. According to the 'The Future of Heat Pumps' report published by the
International Energy Agency, heat pumps have the potential to reduce global CO2
emissions by at least 500 million tons by 2030. This is a significant amount.
To provide a comparison, we can say this figure is equal to the annual CO2
emissions of all cars in Europe. Sales of heat pumps, considered one of the
most effective HVAC technologies of the near future, exceeded 3 million units
in Europe in 2023. There is substantial government support for heat pumps in
European countries, which increases competition in the regional market. Looking
at these developments in Europe, we anticipate that similar government
incentives will be implemented in Turkey in the future.”
Heat pumps, which can perform heating and cooling by taking
the heat energy readily available in natural sources such as air, water, and
soil, provide up to 80% energy savings in residences, buildings, and
application areas thanks to their low energy consumption. It is recommended to
include heat pumps—which function as air conditioners in summer and boilers in
winter—into projects during the construction phase of buildings
