Trail Running Race Dağyenice Ultra Trail to be Held for the 5th Time Under the Title Sponsorship of SPX
Turkey’s only race that starts at night and finishes in the morning; SPX Dağyenice Ultra Trail
The promotion of the Dağyenice Ultra Trail, which will be held for the fifth time this year in Bursa with SPX (Sport Point Extreme)—the leading outdoor and extreme sports brand in its sector through its product range and sponsorship agreements—as the title sponsor, took place at Point Hotel. The Dağyenice Ultra Trail, which is Turkey’s first race to start at night and finish in the morning with its 100K track, will be held on May 24-25.
The ultra-marathon, which will take place on May 24-25 in Bursa Dağyenice, one of Turkey’s largest outdoor and natural living centers, offers alternatives for runners of different levels this year with the 6K Lake Track, 15K Fire Track, 33K Water Track, 61K Earth Track, and 100K Mysia Ways Track. Accredited to provide international ITRA points, the SPX Dağyenice Ultra Trail 2024 is expected to host one thousand five hundred nature enthusiasts this year.
In addition to hundreds of athletes participating from home and abroad, nature lovers who enjoy running and wish to spend a fun weekend in a magnificent natural landscape away from the stress of the city also show great interest in the race.
“The Adventure Continues Where It Left Off”
Stating that they have played a major role in gaining interest for trail running in our country, Olgar and SPX General Manager Barış Andırınlı made the following statements at the press launch:
“We are a brand aware of our active life responsibility. Unfortunately, according to EU Statistics Office (Eurostat) data, it shows that Turkey has the citizens who exercise the least among European countries. While the 'rate of those who do not exercise' is 47 percent in the European Union, this rate is 88 percent in Turkey. When looking at the rate of those who perform muscle-strengthening exercises at least once a week, Turkey is second from the bottom with 4 percent. Romania ranks last with 3 percent, while the EU average is 26 percent. With this awareness, we offer sports as a lifestyle outside of our stores as well. Since the first day we started SPX Ultra Trail, we will continue to be a part of the race with our faith in both the race and the organization. We believe that with such races, we will encourage everyone to exercise more by making active living popular in Turkey.”

“We Run by Discovering Nature”
Stating that they have carried the race to an international level, SPX Dağyenice Ultra Trail Course Director Osman Argat said: “In our 100-kilometer track, which is Turkey’s first to start at night and end during the day, we experience a unique journey by passing through historical paths. We pass through trails in the very heart of nature, away from asphalt. 99 percent of these routes consist of trails.
Runners who run 100K are usually alone; they run alone on trails in the mountains. We achieved a first here as well. Our runners merge with those running 33K and 61K on the course. They feel they are not alone, and the other runners provide them with motivation. The cut-off time for this race is 22 hours. When the runners reach the finish line, they are greeted enthusiastically, and beyond a competition, it actually takes place in a festival atmosphere.”
“Our Priority is the Safety of the Course”
SPX Dağyenice Ultra Trail Event Director Erçin Çaçan said: “Our course passes through the historical Mysia ways supported by our main sponsor, Nilüfer Municipality. We make the Mysia ways, which are the center of nature, history, and culture routes, suitable for the race with the support of Nilüfer Municipality. Because our priority is the safety of the course. In this context, in addition to making the roads suitable, we also place search and rescue teams at certain points of the track. You definitely see someone every 3 or 5 kilometers. We added the 100K track to the course last year specifically for the 100th anniversary of our Republic. The feature of the track is that it starts at 21:00 in the evening and lasts until 06:00 in the morning.” He invited everyone to the SPX Ultra Trail race.
SPX Dağyenice Race Director Burcu Özhan said: “When starting the Dağyenice race, everyone believed in a dream. The dream we started with five hundred people has turned into a giant event reaching one thousand five hundred people. Dağyenice has turned into a festival more than a race. There are those who have been running for 5 years in our race. There are those who have run 5 times in a row in the 33km and surpassed their own degrees.”
